Char Dham Yatra A Great way of Divinity

Char Dham refers to the small circuits of four pilgrims Sri Gangotri Dham, Sri Yamunotri Dham, Sri ‘Badrinath Dham and Sri Kedarnath Dham, so called Char Dham. It is considered as the most revered Hindu pilgrimage circuit. Located in Garhwal region of Indian state of Uttarakhand. The tour of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath earlier known as Chota Char Dham to differentiate them from the bigger circuit of Char Dham sites, after the mid-20th century they themselves started being called the Char Dham. Today, Char Dham usually refers to the all-denomination Himalayan Char Dham.

Next in the journey is Gangotri.  It is the birth place of holy river Ganga.  According to the Hindu mythological legends state that the temple prayed here is just next to the spot where holy River Ganga first descended on Mother Earth. It is believed that earth would have got lost with the rage of this river for Hindu deity Lord Shiva held it in his hair and controlled its rage for the benefit of mankind. Then River Ganga found its way with the guidance of King Bhagirath who actually did prayers to get this holy river on earth. The temple where you pray now was made in the 18th century. When you travel here, very few people have the courage to travel up to the Gaumukh glacier from where the geography believes that the River Ganga gets its never ending flow of water.

The last spot of chardham yatra is Yamunotri Dham, from where the river yamuna starts his journey. It is said to be one of the most religious destinations in the country. Situated on the banks of Yamuna and the foothill of Kalind Parvat, yamunotri temple is said to be the most peaceful place in the region. There are three hot springs giving you warmth in such a chilling condition.
