Char Dham The Journey For Moksha

Sri Yamunotri, Sri Gangotri, Sri Kedarnath Ji & Sri Badrinath Ji are the most Holy Pilgrims destination for Hindus. situated in the World’s most splendid mountain range of Himalayas in Garhwal region of northern state of Uttarakhand. This region of Uttarakhand is also called Dev Bhoomi. The first spot of chardham is Yamunotri than move towards Gangotri, Kedarnath and finally to Badrinath.

The fascinating place Yamunotri from where river Yamuna starts her journey. Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The temple lies in an altitude of 3165 meters. The temple is on the left bank of Yamuna constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal This temple was built in the 19th century.

Gangotri Temple is an ancient temple constructed during the 18th century by Amar Singh Thapa. The temple lies of the spot where the Kedar Ganga merges with the Bhagirathi River. Gangotri is an ideal location for the Hindu devotee and for those who have the taste of adventures travel. The source of river ganga, Gaumukh is 18 kms from the temple.

Next place in Char dham Yatra is Kedarnath. Gangotri to Kedarnath journey is of around 12 hours. The marvelous rout followed by River Mandakini. Guptakashi is the nearest place where one can find hotels and camps and all these hotels and camp are available in very reasonable price. One have to go through Phata Guri Kund route. Phata is the place from where you can pick the helicopter, but you have to book the helicopter in advance and Gauri Kund which is the starting point of Kedarnath trek. it is 14Kms trek which takes around 5-6 hours. According to Hindu mythology Kedarnath is the place where Gandhari(Maa Parvati) performed sadhna to please Lord Shiva for marriage. The name of temple is drive from king Kedar of Satya Yuga, his daughter Vrinda is also considered as Godess Laxmmi.

And now of the final destination of Badrinath. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The 15 meters tall temple covered with gold gilt roof. The main entrance is a arched gate, inside is mandapa a large pillared hall leading to the Garbha Griha. the temple is surrounded by two peaks either side Nar – Narayan and in the backdrop is the Neelkanth peak.

Beside the spirituality these sites offer very good sight seeing also. Its very good destination for adventure seekers. But you can perform the journey between Akshaya tritiya to Dhanteras.
